Blake Bolden breaks down scouting, making WoHo an inclusive space

I spent three days with Blake Bolden as the American Legacy Black Hockey History museum made its way through Southern California. Bolden discusses Black History mobile museum, explains how #TeamMoreMelanin got her on the Kings radar, and chats about dealing with micro-aggressions in women’s hockey.
Blake Bolden is one of the women prominently featured in the Black Hockey History mobile museum making its way to NHL markets in the 2019-20 season. She won a Clarkson Cup with the Boston Blades of the CWHL and the inaugural Isobel Cup with the Boston Pride (NWHL). Today, she is making history as part of the PWHPA and as a AHL scout in the Los Angeles Kings organization.

On this episode, Blake breaks down what she does as a scout, offers her impressions of the Black Hockey History truck, and offers insight on conversations on racism and microaggressions in Women’s Hockey. I may be biased, but Blake Bolden is always a must-listen! Here are some links
